The
Jaʿfarī Ṭarīqa
The Jaʿfarī Ṭarīqa is a living path of knowledge, remembrance and spiritual purification, rooted in the Qurʾān and Sunnah and centred upon love of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī described his path in his own words: “My path is the Qurʾān, knowledge and taqwā, and praising the Messenger of Allah, the eraser of misguidance.”
Built upon four principles

القرآن
The Qurʾān
The Qurʾān lies at the heart of the path. Its recitation, memorisation and study accompany the seeker from the very beginning, as a source of knowledge, guidance and spiritual elevation.

العلم
ʿIlm
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ was a scholar of al-Azhar, just as the great Imams in his spiritual chain were people of sacred knowledge. The path encourages the seeking of beneficial knowledge, reverence for its people and attendance at gatherings of learning.

التقى
Taqwā
Knowledge is to bear fruit in the heart and in one’s conduct. The path calls the seeker to taqwā — consciousness of Allah, obedience to Him and purification of the inward and outward life.

مدح رسول الله ﷺ
Praise of the Messenger ﷺ
Love and praise of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ occupy a central place in the Jaʿfarī path. Shaykh Ṣāliḥ composed extensive poetry in his praise, nurturing in the seeker love, attachment and reverence for the Beloved ﷺ.
